Background
I am not the typical personal trainer. My style is difficult to define in many ways, because I don't follow one specific training method. I realize that every client is completely different, thus, each person requires a different approach to ensure they reach their goals. I am an expert at determining what path each client should take. I don't hoard my knowledge and keep it to myself - I update my personal training blog daily, always sharing my thoughts and beliefs on training and nutrition. I do this to allow potential clients to see exactly what they're getting when they come to me for training, not forcing them to "wait and find out" if I'm worth what they pay. I take immense pride at being considered an expert, a guru, or simply one of the very best at what I do, and strive to earn those types of accolades every single day of my life.
I believe that fitness becoming a profession for me was simply natural progression. As a rail-thin child, my enthusiasm in fitness began early. Although I wasn't malnourished or ill, I could've easily been confused for someone that was. I started working out at an early age, using the old sand weights and a Soloflex machine (pre-Bowflex era). At that early age I realized that nothing compared to fitness and training. As an athlete throughout my school years, I used to lift weights with no other purpose than to move pounds and would run sprints in the summer heat without water until I was sick. I then realized that there had to be a better way. Soon after joining the US Air Force in 1995, I began studying anything related to fitness/nutrition in order to gather all of the knowledge I could, to assist in finding that better way. In 1996, I began studying ATA Tae Kwon Do, where I soon became nearly obsessed with flexibility, agility, and quickness. It was also at this time in my life when I became nearly obsessed with being as physically conditioned as possible, from both an aesthetic and functional standpoint. In 1997, I was working at a local gym as a part time personal trainer, and it was there that I realized my passion enabling others to see their abs for the first time, helping a new mother get back into pants she hadn't worn in years, making it possible for a football player or sprinter to chop off a split-second in the 40 yard dash, and assisting people in blasting past personal bests in particular lifts. Since then, I have completed formal education in Kinesiology, Sport Specific Training, Functional Anatomy, Fitness Therapy/Rehab and Sports Nutrition. I continue to utilize my in-depth knowledge of fitness and nutrition in designing regimens that ensure individuals get the best results in the shortest amount of time, enabling them to depend on my services less over time.
I specialize in rapid body transformation. My programs are not easy, but they are highly successful and yield consistent results. My expectations are very high, and I strive to get the very best out of my clients.

Personal Training & Certifications
I'm currently an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, ISSA Specialist in Performance Nutrition, ISSA Specialist in Sports Conditioning, Certified Fitness Therapist, a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), an American Red Cross CPR/AED Healthcare Provider, and have minors in both Kinesiology and Nutrition. I have also completed a training certification through Hofstra University in New York and have numerous other certifications and continuing education credits in a variety of fitness related subjects. I conduct and attend many seminars, classes and conferences each year in order to stay on top of the latest research and training methods. I am also a part of ISSA's Inner Circle, a group of 15 trainers selected by ISSA as the best personal trainers in the United States.
After running a successful training business in Montgomery, AL, I have been based out of San Antonio, TX since 2000. I am the proud owner of Personal Fitness Revolution, a private personal training studio in San Antonio. Fitness Experience
The ability to bring my clients' outstanding success has helped me become known as one of San Antonio's top fitness professionals. Since 1997, my personal training clients have included numerous professional and amateur athletes, CEOs, record producers, dancers, models (including cover models for Playboy and Oxygen magazines), teachers, musicians, engineers, doctors, lawyers, nurses, entrepreneurs, accountants, investment brokers, housewives, priests, teachers, students, members of all branches of the US Armed Forces, computer programmers, engineers, and newspaper columnists, to name a few. I specialize in helping individuals add a lot or a little muscle, tone up, with rapid fat loss, specific sports training for any sport, recovering from injury or pregnancy, or just improving the all-around quality of their lives. I find nothing more rewarding than quickly finding each individual a program to get them in the best shape of their lives! I've also had nearly 8 years experience in the martial arts and have experience in Yoga, so I'm a huge advocate of developing flexibility, strength and balance. I also have vast experience with groups that require special
attention, such as diabetics, pre and post-natal mothers, heart patients and several other special situations. I am also a successful fitness speaker, and travel to fitness engagements across the United States to provide insight and innovative fitness and nutrition information to large groups of people.
Community Involvement
Giving back to the community is an important part of what I do. I regularly donate training sessions to local auctions at various charity and fundraising events. I have also volunteered training sessions and fitness education seminars to local High School sports teams and to members of the United States Armed Forces.
Miscellaneous
After 11 years in IT as a Computer Engineer (including a 1 year trip to Baghdad, Iraq as a government contractor) while training others in my spare time which usually totaled over 40 hours per week, fitness is my only profession. My hobbies include competitive bodybuilding and modeling.
I also spent over 10 years in the US Air Force before separating in 2004. I am a recipient of the US Air Force's "Airman's Medal" for heroic action, which is the most prestigious medal an individual can receive for a non-combat event in the US Air Force.
I'm a caring father to my son, Peyton, and spend as much time as humanly possible "growing up" with him every day.

At the end of June 2009 (about 7 months ago) my friend and I decided that we needed to get back into shape. We are both 31 year old males that WERE about 40lbs overweight. I tried to eat healthy and exercise on my own without much success. I decided to seek help from a personal trainer and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has been roughly 7 months and I have lost 40lbs and 10 inches around my abdominal circumference. I started out at 24% body fat and now I am down to 10% and still losing fat. Four weeks after having my third baby, I was ready for a change. I had no clue where I was going, or how to get there, but my whole body needed transformation. I was at a breaking point and had very little faith that I was capable of doing what I needed to do to change my body. I had been active my entire life, but now as a new mother with a stressful job and seemingly no time, I had worked with other trainers in the past with marginal success. Thanks to Boyd, I am wearing a top that I have n-e-v-e-r - let me repeat, n-e-v-e-r been able to wear. It was one of those things that I bought years ago because it was cute and I thought I'd lose weight to fit into it, but never did. For giggles, I tried it on last night and, to my surprise, it fit perfect! I am smaller than I was at my all time low after trying South Beach (w/ no exercise) and the smallest I have been since 1996! I can't believe it!
